GDC Sidhra conducts quiz competition

JAMMU, Nov 1: As part of the activities organized to commemorate "Vigilance Awareness Week-2023," the Department of Economics, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra and under the auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a quiz competition to celebrate Vigilance Awareness Week. The theme of the event was "Say No to Corruption; commit to the Nation," with a special focus on engaging young individuals in vigilance awareness in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.
The primary objective of the quiz competition was to instill the true spirit of participation in vigilance and to reaffirm everyone's commitment to upholding integrity in public governance. A significant number of students enthusiastically participated in the quiz, showcasing their knowledge and dedication to this vital cause.
The results of the quiz competition were as follows:
Zahida Kousar from Semester 3rd secured the first position.
Aasif Farooq from Semester 1st claimed the second position.
Manharan Singh from Semester 3rd earned the third position.
The event was meticulously organized by Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Head of the Department of Economics, with active support from Dr. Harpreet Kour, Head of the Department of Political Science, and Dr. Satbir Kour, Head of the Department of Punjabi. Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, the Program Officer (NSS), also played a pivotal role in making the event a success.
This quiz competition was conducted under the guidance of the college's Principal, Dr. B.B. Anand, and it served as a noteworthy effort to raise awareness about the importance of vigilance and anti-corruption measures. It highlighted the college's commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and ethics among the youth, empowering them to contribute to a more vigilant and corruption-free society.
