11/5/2023 10:52:25 PM

Early Times Report

DODA, Nov 5: District Administration Doda, under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh started day-night work on the repair of internal roads in Doda Town, including a 200 meter patch of Bharat Road and the internal roads of Associated Hospital GMC Doda.
The project has been started under the revised Town & City plan for the year 2023-24 and will be carried out at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
Earlier, the other Day DDC conducted a detailed tour of the town and directed to repair the potholes, damaged stretches of the internal roads, drainage system and the roads within the Associated Hospital GMC. The D C also inspected the progress of work on multi-storey car parking/ Bus Stand, upcoming Shopping Complex and crash barriers on Bharat Road. In addition to road and drainage issues, the DC emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the town. He asked the Executive Officer of Doda Municipal Council to ensure that the town remains clean and free from debris.
The DC advised shopkeepers not to place their goods and material outside their shops, as this practice is creating inconvenience to the pedestrians and is hampering efficient traffic management in the town. Recognizing the inconvenience faced by the public due to damaged roads, the DC emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth and safe transportation for the residents. The double shift work approach has been adopted to expedite the repair process and minimize inconvenience to the public. The move has come in view of approaching winters when the temperature drops hampering the progress of the macadamization of roads.
This approach will ensure round-the-clock work to complete the project before the onset of winters. The DC directed the concerned officials to make adequate arrangements for lighting and other necessary facilities to facilitate smooth work during night hours.
The repair work will include resurfacing, patchwork, and relaying of damaged roads to improve their overall condition and enhance the connectivity within the district. The project will be carried out with utmost precision and in accordance with the town planning guidelines.
The DC instructed the officials to closely monitor the progress, ensure quality work, and take appropriate measures to address any challenges that may arise during the execution of the project. The implementation of day-night work on the repair of internal roads and Bharat Road is a significant step towards improving the infrastructure in the district. It showcases the commitment of the administration towards providing better facilities and enhanced connectivity to the residents of Doda.
The repair work on internal roads and Bharat Road under the revised Town & City plan 2023-24 is expected to greatly benefit the residents of Doda. It will not only improve the connectivity but also contribute to the overall development and growth of the district.
