Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 7: Jodhamal Public School recently hosted its XIX Annual Sports Day 2023 with great enthusiasm, energy, and camaraderie. The highly anticipated event began with the arrival of the chief guest, Mohd. Yaseen Kichloo, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police, and the Guests of Honour, SM Sahni, Arvind Kotwal, and K K Sharma, Conveners of INTACH, Jammu Chapter. Trustee Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Director Aarti Kuthiala, and Principal Girish Kumar also graced the occasion. The sports festivities kicked off with the release of balloons and the official declaration of the Meet Open by the Chief Guest. This was followed by a brief overview of the school's activities and students' achievements. The NCC cadets of the Naval wing and Army wing presented a spectacular and synchronized march past that left parents and spectators in awe. The ceremonial torch-ceremony followed, with International and National players of the school carrying a torch across the ground to light the mega-torch, marking the commencement of the Sports Day. One of the highlights of the event was the field display, which saw extensive student participation. Various races, including the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter races, Swim-a-thon, Skate-a-thon, Clown race, Ladder race, and 100x4 relay race, were organized, keeping the audience entertained throughout. Parents showed their unwavering support, cheering on the participants with great enthusiasm. Kichloo expressed his admiration for Jodhamal Athletes and the vibrant displays by the students. He stressed the importance of sports and commended the students of Jodhamal School for breaking away from the confines of social media and household walls, actively nurturing their skills and fostering a harmonious spirit. The Best House in Sports Trophy was awarded to Enterprise House, and Adalia Narang received the All-rounder Athlete of the Year Award. The achievements of Jodhamal students representing the country at the international level and J&K at the national level were acknowledged, including Ranveer Singh Shan's representation of India in the U-19 World Championship in Italy, and Daanial Butt, Dhruv Sadhotra, and Namish Gupta's Bronze Medals in an international competition in Macau, China. Raveena Jangid's two Gold and Silver medals in a National Level Shooting Competition were also celebrated, as well as the participation of more than 50 students in various sports at the School Nationals in their respective age groups. The friendly tug-of-war competition between parents and teachers of JMPS was a show-stopping event enjoyed by all participants and spectators. The event concluded with the chief guest declaring the Meet closed. The School Sports Vice Captain delivered the Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem. This XIX Annual Sports Meet at Jodhamal Public School was a remarkable celebration of sports, talent, and dedication. |
