Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 7: On November 7th, Carmel Convent School Kunjwani celebrated its Annual Sports Day with the theme "One Earth! One Family! One Future!" The event was graced by the presence of Ramesh Kumar IAS, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, who served as the chief guest of the day. The distinguished guest list also included Chief Engineer Rajesh Kumar Gupta, PWD(R&B), and Rt. Rev. Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu Srinagar, along with Sister Pavita A.C. Parents of the students were invited to witness their children's talents, which played a pivotal role in the event's success. The festivities began with a warm welcome for all the dignitaries, followed by the lighting of the Torch, Oath-taking, and a march-past by the four House Contingents. Ramesh Kumar IAS hoisted the school flag and officially declared the event open. The students' performances showcased their immense talent in dance, drill, and music, all centered around the theme of "One Earth! One Family! One Future!" The meticulously planned and executed event spanned three hours and created an atmosphere of joy, excitement, and camaraderie. The highlights of the event included a series of track events, where students participated in races that tested their speed, agility, and teamwork. Winners were honored with medals by the distinguished dignitaries in attendance. The Green House received the best March Past trophy, recognized for its precision and discipline. The event also celebrated the achievements of previous race winners. The School band's captivating performances mesmerized the audience, and the taekwondo presentations by the skilled Carmelites displayed discipline, strength, and precision, leaving everyone awe-inspired. Shri Ramesh Kumar, the Chief Guest, praised the flawless performances and emphasized the importance of physical and extracurricular activities in a student's life. He congratulated the school management and Principal Sr. Maria Swati for providing a holistic education to girl students. The chief guest also honored 25 students who had participated in various events at the national level. Other dignitaries also congratulated the students for their outstanding performances and awarded them with medals. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from the school administration, expressing gratitude to all the participants, guests, and staff who contributed to the event's immense success.
