KVK Poonch conducts VCRMC meet under at Mangnar | | | Early Times Report POONCH, Nov 10: In line with series of activities conducted under National Innovations on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) Project, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch working under the auspices of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) todayconducted a Village Climate Risk Management Committee (VCRMC) meet under NICRA project at Mangnar, in which the members of VCRMC along with a large number of farmers of the said village participated. The meeting was held as per the guidelines of the said project and under the able guidance of Dr. B. N. Tripathi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, and Dr. S.K. Gupta, Director Extension, of SKUAST-Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Scientist and Head, Dr. Ajay Gupta said that as part of the NICRA-TDC program, VCRMC determines the rental charges for each of the equipment maintained at Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs), collects the rentals and deposits the rental in the bank account. However, during recent HLMC meeting held by funding agency, it has been decided that CHC are to be run by the entrepreneurs in the village so that the farmers in the village will get benefit from the equipments/machinery besides identified entrepreneur in the village will be attending to the requirements of the farmers in a systematic and organized manner in the NICRA village and earn his livelihood, he elaborated. Dr. M.A.Guroo KVK Poonch elaborated the detailed guidelines in this regard and impressed upon the interested persons to garner this opportunity for personal benefit and betterment of farming community.
