Back to Village" Initiative - Day 2 witnesses massive public engagement in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Nov 10: The second day of the fifth phase of the 'Back to Village' initiative, a flagship program of the Union Territory, witnessed an overwhelming public response in Udhampur district. Leena Padha, Mission Director of Skill Development Mission and visiting officer of Panchayat Rehmbal Upper, conducted public interactions with PRI members and officials from Line departments. She inaugurated a newly constructed Community Hall and Capex works in the presence of BDC Chairman Balwan Singh and also inspected the Anganwadi center, PHC, and distributed Sehat cards among beneficiaries. Throughout the day, the visiting officers engaged with PRIs and the general public across different Panchayats, collecting detailed feedback on the status of implementation of government schemes in the area. They inquired about ongoing developmental works and flagship schemes, emphasizing the importance of understanding the on-ground reality. Numerous activities were organized in different Panchayats, including inaugurations of CSC, sports and cultural events, plantation drives, Gram Sabhas, inspection of development works and the distribution of Sehat/KCC cards, vegetable seeds, and Mamta kits. The day also featured the Nasha Mukht Bharat pledge, discussions on plans, and inspections of ongoing projects. The 'Back to Village' initiative continues to foster community engagement and ensure the effective implementation of government programs at the grassroots level. |
