JKAACL organises Cultural Festival at GBHSS Doda

DODA, Nov 25: A Cultural Festival was today organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here at Govt. Hr. Sec. Schoo (Boys), Doda.
The Festival was a part of the series of Cultural Festivals being organized all over Jammu and Kashmir by JKAACL. The programme was presided over by Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL, while Harvinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner Doda was the Chief Guest. Other guests present in the programme were Abdul Qayoum, Sr. Superintendent of Police Doda, Bal Krishan, Chief Executive Officer Bhaderwah Development Authority, Chief Education Officer Doda, besides several other prominent personalities of the area, a large gathering of people from all walks of life and students of different schools, witnessed the programme.
In his address, Secretary JKAACL stressed upon the promotion and preservation of Local Culture of the different areas of the Jammu and Kashmir by organizing such types of programmes with special focus on youth, so that the local folk artists take the opportunity to showcase their art forms in a better way. He assured that many more such type of events shall be held in Chenab Valley in the coming days.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Doda commended the efforts of JKAACL for promoting and showcasing the local art and culture of the district at various forums to present its richness and to preserve it. He emphasized on holding more events in the District which can play a major role in promoting communal harmony, preservation of age old culture of the respective areas and help in promotion of Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. He hoped that JKAACL, under the guidance of Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary, will come up with more events in future too. He also congratulates Slah ud Din, SOCA JKAACL Sub Office Doda, and his whole team for this successful event.
Earlier, the programme started with the Welcome Action Song by Students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Girls), Kashmiri Rouf , presented by Sabreena and Group followed by the Bhaderwahi Folk Song/Dance, Sarazi Kud Dance and other Dance performances by students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School Trown and Govt. hr. Sec. school (Boys) Doda. Singing performance of various renowned singers also enthralled the audience by their magical voice which includes Mr. Chaman Lehri, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Khokher, Anil Kumar Shan etc.
The One Day Cultural Festival culminated with the formal Vote of Thanks by Sh. Slah-ud-Din, Cultural Officer JKAACL.
