GDC Paloura, promotes constitutional awareness

JAMMU, Nov 25: In a bid to enhance awareness and understanding of the Constitution of India, the Department of Political Science at Government Degree College, Paloura, organized a Quiz Competition under the theme "My Constitution and My Pride." The initiative, held under the patronage of Dr. Ashu Vashisht, the Principal of the college, aimed to test the students' knowledge on the intricacies of the nation's fundamental governing document.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Vijay Kumar Rukwal, the Head of the Political Science Department. Dr. Shazia Aftab, Lecturer in Political Science, conducted the proceedings, ensuring the smooth flow of the quiz competition. Three teams, comprising students from Semester 3rd and Semester 1st, actively participated in the competition, showcasing their understanding of constitutional principles.
A total of nine students engaged in the competition, demonstrating their grasp of constitutional nuances. Team C, consisting of Harsh Bhardwaj from Semester 3rd, Akash Digra from Semester 3rd, and Rajveer Singh from Semester 3rd, secured the coveted 1st position in the Quiz, displaying commendable knowledge of the Constitution.
Team A, comprised of Sunil Kumar, Mahesh Singh, and Abhishek, secured the 2nd position, while Team B, consisting of Simranjeet, Chandrika Sharma, and Simran Kotwal, also exhibited noteworthy participation.
The quiz competition not only served as a platform for friendly competition but also as an avenue to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Constitution among the students. The Principal, Dr. Ashu Vashisht, lauded the efforts of both participants and organizers, emphasizing the importance of constitutional literacy in shaping responsible citizens.
Events like these contribute significantly to the academic and cultural vibrancy of the college, aligning with its commitment to holistic education and the promotion of civic awareness among its students.
