KISHTWAR, Nov 25: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, who is the Chairman of District AYUSH Society (DAS), spearheaded a pivotal meeting to evaluate its operations in the District.
At the outset, Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal, CEO of DAS and District Nodal Officer for AYUSH, presented an overview of Ayush Kishtwar’s infrastructure and functioning. He informed that 18 Ayush Dispensaries have been upgraded in the district as AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres recently.
Dr. Jamwal also outlined forthcoming prospects for the District Ayush society, shedding light on prospective projects awaiting sanction.
Besides, the agenda encompassed a broad spectrum of topics, including the upgradation of GAD Nagbhatna and others including Ayush dispensaries at Marwah Chishoti, Nagseni, Gandhari, Anjol, Rahalthal, and Neera. Directives were issued to expedite these establishment processes while exploring the feasibility of setting up a makeshift Ayush dispensary at Kundal.
Furthermore, the meeting delved into the significant role of Ayush systems in benefiting the public health sector. Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized commencing a Panchkarma Unit at AHWC Proper Kishtwar and advocated for the appointment of one male and one female Yoga/Fitness Ambassador within the District.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for launching a sustained Nasha Mukht Abhiyan across the district and the promotion of the Toll-Free Number 14416 among youths aged 12 years and above.
Further, he called for intensifying lab tests for Anemia and NCD in coordination with ICDS Kishtwar, along with ramping up efforts for Anemia Mukt Abhiyan and ensuring proper listing of children in the district.
Moreover, the DC stressed the importance of clean drinking water provisions in Anganwadi and school buildings and asked for tandem work among Jal Shakti, Education, ICDS and AYUSH departments.
Simultaneously, he sought updates on the physical and financial progress of the 50-bedded Ayush Hospital in the district.
The DC urged the District Ayush Officer to establish a Panchkarma Unit at AHWC Kishtwar besides starting public awareness campaigns under DAS, focusing on the cultivation and propagation of herbal medicines as home remedies for treating common ailments.
