Early Times Report SAMBA, Nov 28: In a relentless effort to curb bovine smuggling, Samba Police has successfully thwarted two bovine smuggling attempts within the jurisdictions of PS Bari Brahmana and PS Ghagwal. The operations resulted in the arrest of a notorious bovine smuggler, the rescue of 23 bovine animals, and the seizure of two vehicles. The arrested individual, identified as Mureed Ali, son of Mohd. Yousaf, resident of Gole Gujral Camp, tehsil, and district Jammu, is a known figure in bovine smuggling circles. Cases FIR No.271/2023 under sections 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No.110 /2023 under sections 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Ghagwal, respectively, with investigations underway. The successful operations were carried out by dedicated police teams led by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, SHO Police Station Ghagwal, Sham Lal, and Incharge Police Post Rajpura, SI Hardev Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, DySP Hqrs Samba, Bhishm Dubey, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. Under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, the Samba Police has intensified efforts against bovine smugglers. Over the past ten months, a total of ninety-six (96) bovine smugglers have been arrested, seventy-nine (79) FIRs have been registered, sixty-eight (68) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized, and seven hundred seventy-eight (778) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district. |
