Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur, in collaboration with the District Election Office Vijaypur, organized a comprehensive Voter Awareness Programme. The initiative, led by the Department of Political Science, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT), aimed to educate young college students and citizens about the significance of their participation in the upcoming elections as part of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) 2023. The program, conducted in partnership with the Election Commission of India (ECI), included informative sessions and interactive activities to actively engage participants. Faculty members, college students, and NSS volunteers attended the program, making it a collaborative effort to promote electoral awareness. A team from the District Election Office Samba, comprising Kameshwar Dubey (BLO Supervisor), Muneer Hussain (BLO), Mohd. Abdulla (BLO), and Sunil Sharma (Handloom Deptt.), facilitated various sessions. The topics covered during the program included the role of the Election Commission of India, the voter registration process, the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and the significance of ethical voting. The program received positive feedback from participants who found it both informative and engaging. Participants appreciated the efforts of the District Election Office Vijaypur in organizing such an initiative to create awareness about the electoral process. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Convenor IQAC), and the program was effectively coordinated by Prof. Renuka Kundal (Lecturer Political Science) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO).
