SAMBA, Nov 28: District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) on J & K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) today approved 25 loan applications at its meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma. The flagship rural employment generation scheme is being implemented by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), for which the applications were received online. The committee, after examining the feasibility and viability of the applications, approved 25 applications, deferred 29 applications for the next meeting and rejected one application. The approved applications cover various sectors such as dairy, poultry, handicrafts, food processing, etc. The total project cost of the approved applications is Rs. 1.25 crore, out of which Rs. 62.50 lakh is the margin money subsidy. The District Development Commissioner appreciated the KVIB for its efforts put in to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the rural youth. He also urged the banks to expedite the sanctioning and disbursement of loans to the approved applicants. He further directed the KVIB to conduct awareness camps and workshops in the district to motivate more youths to avail the benefits of JKREGP. The meeting was attended by S. Harvinder Singh, District Officer KVIB Samba, Representative of District Industries Centre Samba, Lead District Manager State Bank of India, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Representative of J&K Grameen Bank, and Superintendent ITI Samba. |
