Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Nov 29: In commemoration of World AIDS Day 2023, Govt. Degree College Vijaypur hosted a poster-making competition on HIV/AIDS awareness, organized by the Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT). The event, held under the theme "Let Communities Lead," witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers and other college students. The poster-making competition showcased the artistic talents and commitment of the students, with Pooja Kumari from semester-III securing the 1st position, followed by Rohit Singh of semester-V in the 2nd position, and Sharda Devi of semester-III in the 3rd position. Participants used their creative expressions to dispel myths and address misconceptions about HIV/AIDS, contributing to the awareness campaign. During an interaction with the participants, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, the Principal of the college, emphasized the global significance of AIDS Day. She highlighted that the day serves as a global movement to unite people in the fight against HIV/AIDS, demonstrating strength and solidarity against HIV stigma, and remembering lives lost to AIDS.
