Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 2: The Red Cross Unit at Government Degree College (GDC) Kunjwani orchestrated a comprehensive Awareness Programme on World AIDS Day, aiming to educate students about HIV infection, break the silence surrounding the disease, and foster a more compassionate and supportive community. The event featured a notable presidential address by Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, the principal of the college, who underscored the urgency of raising awareness among students about AIDS, emphasizing the role of education and awareness in controlling the incurable HIV infection. Dr. Arti Pandoh Gupta, HOD Physics, contributed to the program by elucidating the aims and objectives of AIDS awareness, stressing the need to defy stigma and address the issue with compassion. Dr. Ramnik Kour, HOD Zoology, delivered an informative lecture on AIDS awareness, highlighting the global importance of mass awareness to prevent the continued prevalence of HIV in society. Students actively participated in the event, showcasing their dedication through posters, speeches, and a thought-provoking skit on HIV/AIDS. Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Convener of the Red Cross Unit at GDC Kunjwani, efficiently coordinated the entire program, ensuring its success.
