DC, Mission Director JJM review progress of Jal Jeevan Mission Schemes in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Dec 4: In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water in rural areas, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes. Mission Director JJM J&K, G N Itoo and Chief Engineer Jammu, Er. Hamesh Manchand and SE Mechanical, Bodh Raj also joined the meeting through video conferencing.
Acknowledging the significant advancements made in Rajouri, the meeting highlighted the approval of 293 JJM schemes, with active work underway on 275 schemes.
The meeting also reviewed the status of the components of the electric substations under JJM works.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical aspects of maintaining high-quality work, ensuring timely project completion, and implementing effective supervision to achieve the ambitious goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
To expedite the implementation of these schemes, the DC directed officers to adopt a results-driven approach and strictly adhere to set timelines.
With focused efforts and unwavering dedication, the mission is rapidly transforming into a reality, promising a healthier and happier life for the residents of the region.
Addressing the schemes where work has not yet commenced, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to promptly address any issues hindering the initiation of such projects. Emphasizing the need for immediate action, he underscored the importance of kickstarting these schemes at the earliest to ensure swift resolution.
Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of adopting a holistic approach towards water management.
He highlighted that the objective of the mission is not solely focused on providing access to clean drinking water but also on preserving and sustainably utilizing this vital resource. This approach reflects the commitment of the District Administration to ensuring a comprehensive and long-lasting impact on water supply and management in the region.
The meeting witnessed the participation of the Managing Director of Jal Jeevan Mission through video conferencing, underscoring the collaborative and inclusive nature of the mission’s implementation.
Overall, the meeting served as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the District Administration to effectively implement the Jal Jeevan Mission.
