Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 13: On December 12th, 2023, the Department of Zoology at Government Degree College, Kathua, collaborated with the Social Welfare Department of Kathua District to organize an informative and interactive seminar on 'Hormonal Associated Issues in Girls.' Under the leadership of Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of Govt. Degree College, Kathua, the event aimed to address and raise awareness about hormonal challenges faced by young girls, with a specific focus on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Polycystic Ovary Disease (PCOD). The seminar featured Dr. Disha Shakya, a distinguished Gynaecologist and Obstetrician from Prevan Hospital, Kathua, as the guest speaker. Dr. Shakya, with extensive experience from top hospitals in New Delhi, provided valuable insights into the complexities of hormonal issues faced by girls. Prof. RK Pandita, Head of the Department of Zoology, played a crucial role as the main organizer, expressing gratitude to Dr. Disha Shakya and highlighting the importance of addressing hormonal issues in girls for their overall well-being. The collaboration with the Mission Shakti Team from the Social Welfare Department was also acknowledged.
