Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: The Government SPMR College of Commerce in Jammu organized a felicitation program to honor students and their mentor who participated in the "College on Wheels - JK Gyanodaya Express 2023" journey from December 19th to December 2nd, 2023. This unique mobile educational initiative aimed at empowering 700 girl students from various universities in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's train journey across India, this initiative allowed students to explore different parts of the country and learn while traveling. The students visited significant places such as Parliament House and the President's House in Delhi, Kankaria Lake and Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat, Naval Dockyard and the Gateway of India in Mumbai, ISRO and IISC in Bangalore, Naval Shipyard and Beach in Goa, and Sewa Gram at Wardha, Maharashtra. The felicitation program was attended by faculty members and students of the college. Dr. Surinder Kumar, the college principal and liaison officer for the program, congratulated the team for their successful participation in this prestigious journey. The students who were part of the journey, including Gunjan Gupta, Rasneet Kour, Navdeep Kour, Suhani Gupta, Pallavi, Yeasmin Nahar and Gudia, were presented with tokens of appreciation. Dr. Deepak Pathania, the faculty member accompanying the students, also received a memento. During the event, the team presented a detailed overview of the sites visited and the environmental conditions observed during the journey. An interactive session allowed students to share their experiences, inspiring others to express their desire to participate in similar programs in the future.
