Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: Raman Suri, Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the significant progress in healthcare facilities, including the establishment of new medical colleges, Medi-cities, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the region. Suri emphasized that these developments indicate the advancing face of Bharat (India), particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, responding to a question in Parliament, provided insights into the growing healthcare facilities in Jammu and Kashmir. The sanctioned projects include the establishment of five Medi-cities and seven medical colleges in various locations, along with AIIMS. Suri expressed that these initiatives reflect the Union Government's commitment to prioritizing the healthcare infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Suri defended the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the establishment of two AIIMS facilities-one in Vijaypur, Jammu, and another in Awantipora, Kashmir-demonstrates the government's determination to provide improved medical facilities. He highlighted that AIIMS Vijaypur is already operational, attracting patients not only from Jammu and Kashmir but also from neighboring states due to better road connectivity. Additionally, trauma care facilities have been approved for four hospitals in Anantnag, Ramban, Doda, Udhampur, and Kupwara, further enhancing medical services in the region. Suri mentioned that the establishment of five Medi-cities, including two in Jammu, two in Pulwama, and one in Srinagar, will contribute to the healthcare infrastructure once operational. Suri attributed these positive transformations to the BJP's governance at the central level, emphasizing the government's commitment to developing Jammu and Kashmir across various sectors, including roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, and healthcare facilities. He asserted that these initiatives signify a comprehensive effort to bring about positive change in the region, overcoming challenges of militancy and promoting development and prosperity for the common people. |
