agencies NEW DELHI, Dec 13: The 68th Railway Week Central Function - Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar-2023 is being celebrated at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 15th December 2023. The event, organized by Indian Railways, commemorates the running of the first train in India on 16th April 1853. Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics, and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, is set to present awards and shields to deserving railway personnel, Zonal Railways, Production Units, and Public Sector Units (PSUs) for their outstanding services and best performances. A total of 100 railway employees from various Zonal Railways, Production Units, and Railway PSUs across the country will be recognized for their exceptional contributions. Additionally, 21 shields will be presented to Zonal Railways and PSUs for their outstanding performances in specific fields. Raosaheb Patil Danve, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines, and Darshana Jardosh, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways & Textile, along with Chairman & CEO and Members of Railway Board, General Managers of all Zonal Railways, and representatives from Production Units of Railways and PSUs of Railways will also grace the occasion. The event signifies one of the major functions of Indian Railways, showcasing the collective achievements and dedication of railway personnel.
