Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 14: Govt. Degree College Darhal, in collaboration with the Agriculture Production & Welfare Department, organized a One Day Orientation Programme - YUVA VANI to educate students about the potential of agri-entrepreneurship and government schemes available under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP). The program, held on December 14th, 2023, was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Mussaraf. H. Shah, Principal of the college. Rohit Gandhotra, Nodal officer Yuna Vani, explained government initiatives like YUVA VANI, a two-month-long program reaching every village and Panchayat in J&K. He highlighted its focus on informing unemployed youth (18-35 years) about various agricultural schemes like KCC, Soil Health Card, and HADP components. Bodh Raj, Assistant Director Fisheries, encouraged participants to become entrepreneurs by utilizing these schemes and creating jobs for themselves and others, boosting the economy. Sukhdev Raj and Jatinder Singh from the Department of Agriculture gave lectures on Central Sponsored Schemes and urged youth to adopt scientific agriculture technology. Shamim Ahmed and Sukhjinder Singh from the Department of Agriculture, along with AEA, presented videos, PPTs, and pamphlets showcasing success stories and registration procedures for HADP and feedback mechanisms. The program, supervised by Dr. Mohd Akhlaq Malik, NSS Program officer, attracted a large audience of students and staff. Prominent faculty members like Dr. Ghulam Abas, Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Ahsan Ul-Rehman Rizvi, Dr. Mohd Riaz, and Dr. Mehwish Bukhari participated.
