Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Dec 18: A one day District Level Capacity building workshop for Measles Rubella Elimination and Surveillance under National Programme for Elimination of Measles & Rubella was held at Conference Hall of New DC Office Complex Kishtwar today. The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization J&K in collaboration with World Health Organisation, NPSN Jammu under the aegis of Dr. M.Y Mir, Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar and in association of Dr. Balbir Kumar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar & Dr. Sajjad Hussain, District Immunization Officer Kishtwar. During the workshop, Dr. Azmat Khan, Surveillance Medical Officer, WHO, National Public Health Surveillance Network (NPSN) Jammu gave a detailed presentation and educated all Block Medical Officers, Medical Officers of PHCs, NTPHCs, MLHPs, Block Monitoring Evaluation Officers, Leading Health Visitors (LHVs), Vaccinators, Health Educators, Extension Educators, Pharmacists and various Front Line Workers of Health Department about implementation of strategies for achieving Measles Rubella elimination in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir besides recommended to strengthen immunization and surveillance sensitivity for Measles Rubella to meet elimination standards. Furthermore, the Health care professionals were emphasized regarding maintenance of Cold Chain for proper vaccination of Measles, Rubella Virus vaccine as part of National Programme for complete elimination of Measles in India by December 2023. |
