GDC Neeli nallah, Udhampur conducts cleanliness drive | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: The NSS Unit, "Sewak," at Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, orchestrated a meaningful Cleanliness Drive under the able guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, the college Principal. The initiative witnessed active student participation and aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility and cleanliness among the youth. The program commenced with a keynote address by Prof. Hans Raj, where he emphasized the significance of higher education institutions in imparting knowledge beyond academics. The Principal highlighted the importance of cleanliness, a safe environment, hygiene, shramdaan (voluntary labor), beautification, awareness campaigns, sports, plantation drives, and the overall health of stakeholders. A large number of students took part in the Cleanliness Drive with great zeal and enthusiasm, contributing to the enhancement of the college premises. Prof. Hans Raj shared valuable insights with the students, emphasizing that such activities and extension works play a crucial role in shaping responsible individuals who are mindful of their surroundings and community. The convenor of the program, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen (NSS PO), played a pivotal role in organizing the initiative. The organizing committee comprised dedicated individuals, including Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Rekha Sharma, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Zahoor Mir, Dr. Muntazir, Dr. Mahima Bhagat, Pradeep, and Miss Swati.
