Weeklong FDP on machine learning with focus on electroencephalography commences at Bhaderwah campus

BHADERWAH, Dec 19: The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, kicked off a weeklong Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Machine Learning, Theory, and Application with a Special Focus on Electroencephalography, Document, and Sign Gestures Analysis." The workshop, organized in collaboration with HRDC Centre, University of Jammu, iHUB Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee, and LTU Sweden, commenced today and will continue until December 23rd, 2023.
Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, extended his best wishes to Bhaderwah Campus and praised the Department of Computer Science & IT for spearheading this initiative. Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, acknowledged the instrumental role of the faculty in organizing the FDP.
Harvinder Singh (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Doda, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he commended the collaborative effort between Bhaderwah Campus, HRDC Centre JU, LTU Sweden, and iHUB Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee, emphasizing its significance in advancing research in machine learning. He also applauded the "Design Your Degree" program, launched by the University of Jammu, for transforming the educational landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Jatinder Manhas, the Convenor of the FDP, outlined the objectives of the workshop. The participants will benefit from the expertise of Dr. Rajkumar Saini, a renowned expert from Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, who presented a comprehensive lecture on machine learning theories and applications, with a specific focus on Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis.
The FDP aims to deepen understanding in machine learning concepts and their practical applications, particularly in Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis. Dr. Abid Sarwar expressed gratitude to Dr. Rajkumar Saini, participants, and esteemed guests. The event was attended by faculty members, officials from police and civil administration, and non-teaching staff.
Participants also include Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dr. Subash Chander, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Dr. Shayan Javed, Dr. Cherring Tandop, Mujeeb Shekh, Dr. Rohit Bhagat, Dr. Ajay Lakhnotra, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Ashok Sharma, SHO Bhaderwah Amrit Katoch, Wasim Akram, Shallu Kotwal, Abrar Ali Sheikh, Priya Rani, Yaseer Ali, and Parvesh Singh.
