Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 19: The Valedictory Ceremony of YUVTARANG 2023' organised by the Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu concluded here today at MAM College with immense fanfare and fervor. Alok Kumar (IRS), Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, Alok Kumar (IRS), Principal Secretary stressed upon the significance of holding such events that act as a platform for showcasing the literary and artistic brilliance of the students. He also lauded the efforts of the organizing team and congratulated the participants for their outstanding performances. Prof Bechan Lal, The Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu appreciated YUVTARANG, a Cultural and Literary Fest of the University which has played a pivotal role in creating an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and a sense of community among the students. Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Students Welfare while welcoming the august gathering spoke about YUVTARANG as a celebration of creativity, talent, and the indomitable spirit of the students. He opined that the festival will serve as a catalyst for their personal and academic growth. Winners of different events were felicitated by the Chief Guest Alok Kumar (IRS), Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K in the presence of Prof. Bechan Lal, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Students Welfare, Dr Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr Satinder Kour , Dean Research, Dr Sanjay Verma, Controller of Examination, Deans and Principals of Constituent Colleges, Chairperson-Campus Cultural Committee, Cultural Coordinator and Cultural Conveners, faculty members and students. Over All Winners (Rolling) Trophy (Sarvottam) was won by MAM College. Over All Runners-Up Trophy (Uttam) was awarded to GCW, Gandhi Nagar. Over All Best Performer (Vijeyta) was secured by Akash Katoch from MAM College, Best Institution in Theatre (Rangkarmi) was bagged by MAM College. Best Institution in Music (Abhivyakti) was awarded to MAM College, Best Institution in Dance (Natraj) was won by MAM College, Best Institution in Creative & Fine Arts (Lalitkala) was bagged by GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Best Institution in Literary Activities (Saahityam) went to GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Over all Best Performer in Music (Sangeetagya) was bagged by Vineet Raina from MAM College, Overall Best Performer in Theatre (Abhineta) was awarded to Akash Katoch from MAM College and Overall Best Artist in Creative & Fine Arts (Rachnakar) was won by Mohd Zaigham Salaria from GGM Science College. The day 6 of YUVTARANG 2023 started with three events of Kalanjali namely Light Vocal Solo, Classical Dance Solo and Group Dance that witnessed enthusiastic participation of students. In Light Vocal Solo, Mukesh Kumar and Shartik from MAM College won first and second prize respectively whereas Pranav Pandita from GGM Science College secured third position. In Group Dance, MAM College, GCW Gandhi Nagar and GGM Science College bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Classical Dance Solo, Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to Antima Sharma and Medhavani Raina from GCW, Gandhi Nagar. Prof Anupama Sharma, Mr Suraj Singh, IMFA, and Dr Jasmeet Kour, GCW, Parade were the adjudicators for Light Vocal Solo. Ms Shivani Kapoor, IMFA, Dr Priya Dutta, IMFA and Mr Amit Gupta, Choreographer adjudged Classical Dance Solo and Group Folk Dance. Dr Monika Sharma, Dean, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts was the Observer for the event. Dr Kuldeep Raina, Cultural Coordinator presented a Documentary depicting the cultural and literary journey in a colourful mosaic that embodies the essence of YUVTARANG 2023. He informed the gathering that a total of twenty five events of Sahiytam, Sanrachana and Kalanjali were conducted which are in synchronization with Association of Indian Universities. Prof Sugandha Mahajan ably compered the proceedings of the event and Prof Savita Jamwal, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee presented a formal vote of thanks. The events of DSW were planned, organised and managed by Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Students Welfare and his team consisting of, Prof. Savita Jamwal, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Devinder Kumar Sharma, Prof Ashu Manhas, Associate Deans SW, Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Cultural Coordinator, Prof Mohd Ashraf, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Prof Sunita Kumari, Assistant Deans SW, Cultural Conveners and members of Campus Cultural Committee. |
