Traffic rural holds awareness campaign in Bari Brahmana area

JAMMU, Dec 19: SSP Traffic Rural Jammu Vinay Kumar accompanied by Sh. Javed Iqbal and Inspr. Rattan Singh DTI Bari Brahman held interactive session with the drivers/ motorists and transporters in Bari Brahman area today on 19.12.2023 in order to make them aware of the traffic rules and to ensure more effective traffic management system when the whole NHW is under construction from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahmana.
The main objective of the awareness camp was also to aware the them and the general public that 66 traffic court challans of 2021, 6033 challans of 2022 and 35079 challans of 2023 imposed upon traffic violators in the jurisdiction of Traffic Rural Jammu are still lying indisposed in the Hon'ble Courts. As such all the motorists/vehicle operators whose Challans are lying pending in the Hon'ble Traffic Courts shall get them disposed at an to avoid legal action.
To avoid the cancellation/suspension of vehicle documents, the participants were advised that all kind of PSVs / private vehicle operators shall remit the court challan fine within stipulated time under the provisions of MV Act/rule in the Hon'ble Courts. The participants were informed that number of e-Challans sent to Hon'ble court from time to time have not been remitted by the violators and continuous non-disposal of the challan cases in the Hon'ble Court shall lead to the cancellation/ suspension of DLs and route permits .
SSP Traffic Rural Vinay Kumar further advised the participants that the PSV/ HMV/LMV operators shall refrain all visible traffic violations especially from drunken driving, overloading , unnecessary halting of vehicles on the NHW which occupies the space and lead to inconvenience to other road users and cause accidents.
While driving they shall refrain from overtake/ use of pressure horns and follow proper lane discipline for their safety. SSP Traffic Rural Jammu advised the general public not to ply unfit vehicles and keep a good maintenance of their vehicles to avoid the breakdown enroute. He also said that FIRs will be registered against the drivers/owners for overloading/over speeding the passenger vehicles and driving license/ route permits will be sent to concern RTOs for suspension/cancellation who indulge in repeated traffic violations.
SSP Vinay Kumar also stressed upon the parents / guardians not to allow their underage children to drive any kind of vehicle to avoid the hefty fine and prosecution and for the safety of their children as well. SSP also appealed to the parents for discouraging their wards from over speeding, modification and bike stunts while risking own life and also endangering life of commuters on roads.
SSP Traffic Rural Jammu claimed that Traffic Police Rural Jammu has left no stone unturned to check/ take note of all the traffic related violations in order to avoid the traffic chaos on NHW and accidents. General public and all the PSV operators shall follow the traffic rules for their own safety and cooperate with Traffic Police. The general public, as a whole has to participate in this process and to take responsibility for hassle free movement of vehicles. He further said that enforcement drives will get more stringent in coming days for which directions had already been given to the field formations for strict implementation of traffic rules in their area of responsibility and violators shall be dealt accordingly under the amended Motor Vehicle Act 2019.
