Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 20: A delegation from the J&K Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU), led by its State President Md. Maqbool, extended warm congratulations to Chief Secretary Atal Dullo for assuming his prestigious office. The meeting, held at the new Secretariat in Jammu today, provided an opportunity for the delegation to discuss pressing labor issues and present a memorandum of demands.
During the meeting, the JKCCTU delegation highlighted several significant demands in a memorandum presented to Chief Secretary Atal Dullo. The key issues included the revival of the old pension system, the timely release of pensioner benefits such as Gratuity and GP Fund for recently retired employees, regularization and wage increases for daily wage workers, and the reconsideration of the recent General Administration department order that restricts demonstrations and strikes, seen as contrary to basic constitutional and democratic rights. Additionally, the delegation emphasized the settlement of pending pensioners' cases related to SRO 59 and other relevant demands.
Chief Secretary Atal Dullo Ji expressed gratitude for the delegation's congratulatory message and assured them that he would carefully review the presented demands. He pledged to discuss the issues in detail in the coming days, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the concerns raised by the JKCCTU. The Chief Secretary acknowledged the importance of constructive dialogue and collaboration to ensure the welfare of the labor force in Jammu and Kashmir.
The JKCCTU delegation, led by State President Md. Maqbool, included Gurmeet Singh, General Secretary; Dr. Shashi pal Singh, Provincial President; and other prominent leaders such as Rajesh Jamwal, Ram Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Satpal Singh, Gh. Nabi Reshi, and Ab. Rashid.
