Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 22: To celebrate "Dogri Manata Divas 2023" and promote the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented the 395th Friday Series Dogri Musical Play titled "MAA MUH BOLI DOGRI." The event took place in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the Social Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government at Spring Blossom Public High School, Lakkad Mandi, Janipur, Jammu. The musical play, written and directed by renowned writer and director Dr. M.L. Dogra, was performed as part of the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Dogri culture and language. The event also included a pledge administered by Miss Chahat Chadha, with certificates from the Ministry of Social Justice presented to the school. Divya Gupta, Principal of Spring Blossom Public High School, inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest. Guest of Honors included Ashu Sharma, Rakesh Ji, Rashi Gupta, Divya Gupta, and senior teachers from the host school. Musical Play: The musical play featured various Dogri songs, including "Sara Duggar Desh Mahan," "Khand Mithe Log Dogre," "Desh Sadra Dogra Te Mithi Ae Dogri Juban," and more. The music for the play was composed by renowned music teacher Raju Bajgal. Promotion of Dogri Culture: The Chief Guest highlighted the struggles of Dogras and emphasized the need for a dedicated Dogri channel by Doordarshan to counter propaganda against India. She praised the role of cultural organizations in preserving traditional forms like "Karkan, Bakhas, Ballads" and promoting self-reliance among traditional artists. Recognition of Dogri Language: V.K. Magotra, MD of BLSKS, highlighted the historical significance of December 22, recognizing Dogri language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution in 2003. The event aimed to promote Dogra history, culture, and language among the present generation. Appreciation for Writers: Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, lauded the continuous efforts of writers in keeping the language relevant, leading to its inclusion in the 8th Schedule. He emphasized the positive impact of Dogri language inclusion, encouraging research and establishing Dogri's respectful space in contemporary literature. The musical play served as a vibrant celebration of Dogri culture, history, and language, fostering a sense of pride and inspiration among the Dogra community. |
