GDC Akhnoor illuminates "Gita Samaroh" on Gita Jayanti 12/23/2023 10:22:40 PM Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Dec 23: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor celebrated Gita Jayanti with the theme "GITA SAMAROH" today, emphasizing the significance of our rich culture and heritage to instill ethical values among the youth. The event was held under the aegis of Viksit Bharat @2047, showcasing the commitment to national development. The celebration was conducted under the patronage of the esteemed Principal, Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, and under the supervision of Prof. Sandhya Rani, HOD Dept. of Sanskrit, and Dr. Deepali Mahajan, Coordinator of Viksit Bharat. Cultural awareness took center stage during the celebration, fostering an understanding of our cultural roots and promoting unity. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Pooja Devi from the Department of Botany extended a warm welcome to faculty members and students, shedding light on the origin and significance of Bhagwat Gita in modern times. She emphasized the transformative role of Bhagavad Gita and its global appeal, serving as an inspirational guide for people worldwide. The program reached its conclusion with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pushvinder Sharma from the Department of Sanskrit. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Deep, Prof. Sourav, Dr. Sunil, Prof. Amit, Prof. Slony, Prof. Nidhi Jarngal, Prof. Sandeep, Prof. Rahul, Prof. Pankaj, and Ankush. This Gita Jayanti celebration at GDC Akhnoor underscored the importance of embracing and appreciating our cultural heritage, fostering a sense of unity and ethical values among the youth.
