Jammu, Dec 24: In a remarkable showcase of athletic talent, the Jammu District Athletics Championship, organized by the Jammu District Athletics Association under the esteemed patronage of J&K Amateur Athletics Association, J&K Sports Council, and J&K Olympic Association, concluded with resounding success. The event, featuring participants from various schools and institutions across Jammu district, witnessed over 200 young athletes competing fervently in multiple categories. The valedictory ceremony, held to recognize and honor the achievements of these budding athletes, welcomed distinguished guests, with Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education at the University of Jammu, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour included SSP Shaheen Wahid and Harinder Pal Singh, along with S. Ravinder Singh (Babbi), Sr. Vice President of J&K Athletics Association. The winners were awarded certificates and medals by the esteemed panel of dignitaries, including Seema Kharyal, Jaissica Kour, and Mukesh Sharma. The President and Secretary General of the Jammu District Athletics Association extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and provided insights into the future of athletic activities in the region. The championship was executed seamlessly under the guidance of an expert panel of coaches, including Chamel Singh, S. Gurcharan Singh, Harvinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Amardeep Singh, Narinder Singh, Monika Chalotra, Mandeep Kour, Bhushan Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Nitin Saini, Sahil Sharma, and Aryaaveer Singh. |
