Early Times Report
Samba, Dec 24: In a bold move, Samba Police has launched a rigorous crackdown on vehicles operating without number plates or left unclaimed, resulting in the seizure of fifty-five vehicles across the district. The seized vehicles include nine cars, two load carriers, one auto, and forty-three bikes, confiscated at various locations. The vigilant police teams, particularly those from Police Station Bari Brahmana, Police Station Vijaypur, Police Station Samba, Police Post Supwal, Police Post Goran, Police Station Ghagwal, and Police Station Ramgarh, played a pivotal role in this operation. Notably, the seized vehicles were found either without proper number plates or abandoned, leading to their confiscation under relevant legal provisions. Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Toh, has taken a firm stand on the issue. He has issued directives to all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and In-Charge Police Posts (PPs) in the district to ensure strict compliance with the mandate. The directive emphasizes taking stern legal action against owners or users of vehicles found without proper number plates. Furthermore, the SSP has instructed law enforcement officials to promptly seize all unclaimed vehicles found within the jurisdiction of any Police Station or Police Post. |
