Sham Lal Sharma Applauds Spirit of ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ Hockey Tournament | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: Former Minister and State Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sham Lal Sharma, graced the grand finale of the “Chaar Sahibzaade” hockey tournament at K K Hakku Stadium in Jammu today, organized by Jaswinder Singh. Addressing the gathering, Sham Lal Sharma praised the tournament as a genuine tribute to the Chaar Sahibzaade, the four sons of the 10th Sikh Guru – Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Reflecting on the historical significance of their martyrdom between December 21 and December 27 in 1704 AD, he acknowledged their sacrifice for faith and the right to remain Sikhs. “In honoring their martyrdom, we acknowledge the profound impact it had on protecting our civilization. We remain indebted to their sacrifice,” stated Sham Sharma. Highlighting the enduring legacy of Mata Gujri, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the four Sahibzades, he emphasized their bravery and ideals, stating, “Their bravery and ideals continue to inspire millions. They stood unwavering against injustice and envisioned an inclusive and harmonious world. In today’s times, it is crucial for more people to be aware of their extraordinary contributions.” Distinguished individuals present at the event included Sh Balbinder Singh, Sh Rajinder Singh Soodan (Ex-national hockey player), Sh Iqbal Singh, Sh Janak Singh, and Sh Dilbahadur Singh Jamwal. The “Chaar Sahibzaade” hockey tournament not only showcased sporting excellence but also served as a platform to commemorate the historic sacrifices made by these revered figures. Sham Lal Sharma commended the organizers and participants for fostering a sense of unity and remembrance through this event. The tournament’s finale witnessed intense competition and sportsmanship, aligning with the spirit of the Chaar Sahibzaade. In the Men’s final match between Jammu and Himachal teams, Jammu Legends emerged victorious. Additionally, in the women’s match between Punjab and Himachal, Punjab secured the victory. The event celebrated the resilience and fortitude ingrained in Sikh heritage. |
