Samba district athletics championship witnesses spirited participation

JAMMU, Dec 26: In a thrilling display of athletic prowess, the Samba District Athletics Championship, organized by the Samba District Athletics Association under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletics Association, J&K Sports Council, and J&K Olympic Association, unfolded with about 200 enthusiastic athletes from various schools and institutions in Samba district. The championship featured competitions in U-14, U-16, U-18, U-20, and Open categories for both boys and girls. The event took place under the watchful eyes of sports enthusiasts and supporters.
The valedictory function was graced by Sh. Gurucharan Singh, Senior Athletics Coach of J&K Sports Council, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ajay Charak, a distinguished lecturer, was the Guest of Honour, and both dignitaries awarded the deserving winners with certificates.
The position holders, emerging victorious in their respective categories, have earned the coveted opportunity to participate in the National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) scheduled to take place in Gujarat in February 2024. The selected age groups for this prestigious event are under-14 and under-16 for both boys and girls.

600M: 1st - Shantu Sharma, 2nd - Rudra Pratap Singh, 3rd - Himank Anmol

Kids Javelin: 1st - Rudhar Pratap S/o Rajinder Singh, 2nd - Medhansh Choudhary
