Symposium on measures to prevent drug abuse organized at SPMR College | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 26: The Nasha Mukt/Anti Tobacco Cell of SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, took a significant step towards creating awareness about drug abuse by organizing a symposium and group discussion on the theme, "Measures to Prevent Drug Abuse." This event was held as part of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, under the guidance of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college, and the supervision of Prof. Monika Mahajan, Convener of the Anti Tobacco Cell. A total of 50 students from the college actively participated in the symposium and group discussion, addressing the pressing issue of drug addiction. The students eloquently spoke about the detrimental impact of drug addiction on individuals and society. They also shared personal experiences related to family members and friends who had fallen victim to this destructive cycle. The discussions highlighted various preventive measures, with a focus on implementing Awareness and Sensitization Programmes. The symposium served as a platform for students to propose practical steps to combat drug abuse and underscored the importance of community involvement in this crucial endeavor. Dr. Surinder Kumar, the Principal of the College, delivered motivational words to the students, encouraging them to maintain a healthy lifestyle and steer clear of drugs. He commended the efforts of the organizing committee and urged them to continue conducting such activities in the future. The successful execution of the program was credited to the coordination efforts of Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Prof. Binny Kumar, Prof. Esha Abrol, Dr. Deepak Pathania, and Dr. Neeru Anand.
