| GGM Science College hosts Inter-College Handball Tournament | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 27: An Inter-College Handball (Men) tournament was organized by the Cluster University of Jammu at GGM Science College, featuring enthusiastic participation from various colleges on December 27, 2023. Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar of the Cluster University of Jammu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Dean Student Welfare of the Cluster University of Jammu, was honored as the Guest of Honor. Under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Physical Education & Sports at the Cluster University of Jammu, and the Physical Director of GGM Science College Jammu, the tournament showcased the sporting spirit of the participating teams.
The first match witnessed a competitive clash between Govt. MAM College and GGM Science College, with GGM Science College emerging victorious with a scoreline of 19-06 points. The second and final match featured Govt. SPMR College of Commerce against GGM Science College, where GGM Science College secured the win with a score of 15-11 points. Abhay Singh of GGM Science College and Jatin Manhas of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce exhibited stellar performances, scoring 10 and 06 goals, respectively. Abhay Singh was recognized as the highest scorer and the true hero of the tournament.
The event saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Aijaz Malik, Physical Director of SPMR College of Commerce; Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director of GCW Gandhi Nagar; Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director of Govt. MAM College; and Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director of GCOE Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Ritik Pandita and Aryan Baru, ensuring a fair and competitive sporting environment for all participants. The tournament not only showcased the athletic prowess of the players but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among the participating colleges. |
