BIS conducts sensitisation programme for 5 Blocks

BUDGAM, Dec 27: In its endeavour to aware Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office conducted in 3rd Phase a sensitisation programme for Gram Panchayat Sarpanches and Secretaries at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, DC Office Budgam on 26 December 2023.
The programme was conducted by BIS Resource Person Uzair Qadri. Qadri presented detailed overview of standardization with a focus on Indian standards related to day-to-day life, ISI Mark Certification and Laboratory facility to support certification. During the program the participants were apprised about significance of Standards to procure quality goods for any development activity or personal needs and participants also downloaded BIS Care app and learn to use this app for verifying the authenticity of genuine ISI Mark and Hallmarking through BIS Care App. He also demonstrated BIS Care App.
During the programme, Sarpanches and Panchayat secretaries of different Panchayats of Block Nagam, Pakherpora, Chadoora, S.K. Pora and Parnewa more than 60 representative were participated and made aware about the purpose of holding such campaigns.
Sarpanches were all praise for the BIS to hold such a programme which is useful for their daily life.
Speaking on the occasion, Many Sarpanches said that they have attended many programmes in the past but this one was unique and fruitful. "In a person i congratulate BIS for holding this programme and making us aware about ISI marking, Hallmarking and other things," they added.
