UDHAMPUR, Dec 29: The NSS Unit "Sewak" at Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship by organizing a Cleanliness Pledge and Plantation Drive. The event, conducted under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Hans Raj, saw active participation from enthusiastic students eager to contribute to a cleaner and greener campus.
The program commenced with a key note address by Prof. Hans Raj, the Principal of the college. Expressing the importance of environmental consciousness, he encouraged students to actively engage in initiatives that promote cleanliness, hygiene, and a sustainable environment. He emphasized that institutions of higher education play a vital role in instilling these values in students.
A significant number of students enthusiastically participated in the Cleanliness Pledge and Plantation Drive. Their zeal reflected a collective commitment to creating a positive and eco-friendly campus environment.
Prof. Hans Raj shared valuable insights with the students, highlighting that higher education institutions should go beyond academic knowledge and actively engage in activities that contribute to the well-being of society. He underscored the significance of imparting knowledge related to cleanliness, safe environments, hygiene, beautification, awareness campaigns, sports, plantation drives, and overall health to both students and society.
The event was efficiently organized by the convenor, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen (NSS PO), with support from the organizing committee members, including Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Rekha Sharma, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Zahoor Mir, Dr. Muntazir, Dr. Mahima Bhagat, and Mr. Pradeep Kumar.
The Cleanliness Pledge and Plantation Drive at Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, not only contributed to the immediate campus but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among the students. Such initiatives align with the broader goal of creating socially aware and environmentally conscious citizens.
