Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 29: In a recent milestone, SKUAST-Jammu conducted its tenth R-ABI Incubation Committee (RIC) meeting under the RKVY-RAFTAAR project, chaired by Prof. B. N. Tripathi, the Vice Chancellor. The meeting celebrated the innovative agri-business ideas showcased by potential agri-entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of commercial viability and long-term profitability. Prof. B. N. Tripathi praised the ingenuity displayed by agri-entrepreneurs, recognizing opportunities within the agricultural sector. Special attention was urged to ensure that business ideas are commercially sustainable for lasting success. Prof. Tripathi underscored the significance of motivating students to embrace agri-entrepreneurship, listing key focus areas such as natural farming, infrastructure development, vocational education, and critical problem-solving. Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Head AEABM and Project Principal Investigator, outlined the achievements of SKUAST-Jammu's Agri-Business Incubator. Notably, 68 startups across six batches have been incubated, securing a total funding of Rs. 2.33 crores for 21 incubates. The RIC meeting welcomed esteemed members from diverse fields, including Prof. Ashok Aima, Prof. Dileep Kachroo, Prof. S.K. Gupta, Mahesh Verma, Urmil Lata, Annil Suri, and Dr. Manisha Mani. The meeting evaluated business ideas presented by participants, ensuring a comprehensive review. Candidates were assessed for admission to the 7th batch of agri-entrepreneurship training programs.
