NEW DELHI, Jan 4: In a significant stride towards academic collaboration and societal impact, the Christian Medical College Society (Ludhiana) has formalized two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Lovely Professional University (LPU), India's largest single-campus university.
The pivotal agreements were inked following a meeting between the CMC team and the Founder Chancellor of LPU & Rajya Sabha Member, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal. The collaborative efforts will extend to various domains, including holding joint camps, implementing research initiatives, and facilitating exchange programs for both students and faculty.
Commending the substantial growth of LPU, the visiting CMC team expressed their admiration, while the LPU team acknowledged CMC's exemplary philanthropic services.
The MoUs serve as a comprehensive framework for institutional cooperation between CMC and LPU. The broad objectives include fostering academic and research activities, enabling student internships, facilitating joint research supervision, submitting collaborative research proposals to funding agencies, establishing joint academic programs, encouraging cross-disciplinary research interactions, and supporting allied endeavors for mutual benefit.
As part of the collaboration, CMC has granted permission for LPU students to undergo training in various departments, encompassing general medicine, surgery, and central pharmacy. This will provide LPU students with valuable access to patient information for case studies, data analysis, and other research purposes.
The high-profile meeting and signing ceremonies were graced by the presence of Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Director Dr. William Bhatti, Principals Dr. Jayaraj D Pandian and Dr. Abi Thomas from CMC, and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Modi along with Dr. Monica Gulati representing LPU. The MOU ceremony was efficiently coordinated by LPU's Industry Institute Interaction Team.
These collaborative initiatives signify a pioneering step towards advancing education, research, and healthcare services. Both institutions are poised to leverage their strengths and resources to address the evolving needs of students and society at large, fostering a synergistic partnership that holds the promise of groundbreaking advancements in medical and academic domains.
