JAMMU, Jan 12: Dogra Group of Colleges (Dogra Degree College, Dogra Law College & Dogra College of Education) is delighted to announce its annual Lohri celebration, a festive extravaganza set to illuminate the campus with traditional fervor and cultural vibrancy. The event invites students, faculty, and the local community to come together for joy, music, and communal celebration. The event not only strengthened cultural ties within the college community but also served as a reminder of the importance of embracing diversity and fostering a sense of unity. The festivities at Dogra Group of Colleges Lohri celebration will including Bonfire Ritual, Witness the traditional lighting of the bonfire, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and the warmth of community spirit. Speech on revelance of Lohri presented by Mansi Sharma from BEd Ist semester. Cultural Performances consists of skit performed by Mansakshi and Group (DDC). Group Dance by Manjot and Group (DDC), folk song by B.Ed students (DCE), showcasing the rich cultural heritage.
This session ended with formal vote of thank presented by Daksh Bamba, President of Student council.
The Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister & Chairman of the Dogra Educational Trust, served as the Chief Guest for the event. During his speech, the Chairman emphasized that Lohri heralds the joyous spring season, bidding farewell to the dreary winter. He highlighted the festival's role in fostering a healthy and happy society, marking a time of celebration, sharing, and promoting national integration.
The festivities were a collaborative effort by the Dogra Group of Colleges, organized under the auspices of the Dogra Educational Trust, inviting everyone to revel in the winter's abundance. Notable attendees included Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of the Dogra Educational Trust, Ms. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator of Dogra educational Trust, Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College , Dr. Avdhesh Pratap, Principal of Dogra Law College, Dr. Vikesh, Principal of Dogra College of Education, College, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator, along with faculty members and support staff from all three colleges.
