Kavinder slams Cong leadership for declining invitation to Ram temple | Says after Ravana, party only entity that stood against Lord Rama | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 12: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Friday slammed Congress party leadership for declining the invitation to the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, saying it is the only entity in the entire Universe that stood against Lord Rama after Ravana. In a statement issued to media fraternity, the BJP stalwart leader said that Congress leaders late Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Sonia Gandhi and even Rahul Gandhi have visited the grave (tomb) of Mughal emperor Babur but when question of visiting Ayodhya came they simply refused to honour the invitation by Ram Temple trust. He said that the decision of the Congress leadership over the issue of attending the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple has fully exposed the party's anti-Hindu stance as earlier on many occasions the leaders of the oldest party of the country went into denial mode whenever asked about their stance on supporting the Sanatan Dharma. Kavinder said that Congress never wanted the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the party had even filed an affidavit in court calling Lord Rama an imaginary figure. He said that denial of Congress leaders to attend the momentous ceremony of consecration of Ram Temple at Ayodhya should not come as a surprise because over the last few decades, the Congress took no steps to see to it that Ram temple gets constructed in Ayodhya. It is pertinent to mention that the Congress party had announced that Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi and its leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, have "respectfully declined" the invitation to attend the aforesaid ceremony. |
