| 2 drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla, Kulgam | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 19:
Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla and Kulgam districts in separate operations on Friday.
Police said a drug peddler was arrested at a checkpoint established at Gantamulla Colony in Baramulla district .
“Police party intercepted one person and during his search,72 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus psychotropic substances was recovered from his possession,” police said, adding that he was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remained in custody.
He was identified as Gowhar Ahmad Bhat of Pehliharan.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at police Station Sheeri and investigations have been initiated.
Another drug peddler was arrested in Kulgam district, police said.
A police party of Police Station DH Pora at a checkpoint established at Margibal Gojjarpora signalled a motorcyclist identified as Sayar Ahmad Mir of Waripora to stop.
“But after noticing police party, he tried to flee from the spot.
He was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
During search, officers were able to recover 2.5 Kgs of poppy straw like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag from his possession,” police said.
The motorcycle used in commission of crime was also seized.
Accordingly, a case was registered at Police Station DH Pora and investigation has been initiated. |
