| First woman superintendent at AIIMS New Delhi | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 20:
There is a woman MS (Medical Superintendent) at AIIMS , New Delhi for the first time and she hails from Jammu.
India’s top central tertiary care hospital All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi on Friday got its first woman medical superintendent in the 68-year history of the institute.
Dr. Nirupam Madaan has been appointed MS and holds the distinction of being the first woman in 68 years history of AIIMS to hold such a position. Dr. Nirupam Madaan is an alumnus of Jammu Medical College after which she obtained her MD in Hospital Administration (MHA) from SKIMS, Kashmir, from where she got selected for senior residency at AIIMS .
Dr. Nirupam hails from a family of achievers who have been eminent educationists and technocrats over the last 3 generations and given yeoman service in nation building. She is following tradition by excelling in her chosen field of service. Dr. Nirupam Madaan has earlier served as additional medical superintendent of JPNA Trauma Centre which was then the designated covid hospital of AIIMS. She stands recognised for steering the Hospital and consequently all patients through those tough covid times.
