Jammu, Jan 20: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 22 grams of heroin, cash Rs 40050, one sharp edged weapon and 06 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from one accused person in the area under the jurisdiction of PS RS Pura.
A police team of PS RS Pura led by SHO PS RS Pura while on naka duty at Dablehar area under the jurisdiction of PS RS Pura rounded up a suspected person later identified as Keemat Lal @ Sonu S/o Mohan Lal R/o Dablehar Tehsil R.S Pura Distt. Jammu who was coming from Dablehar towards Chak Mohd Yar on a vehicle bearing Registration No PB08DU 8710.
On search, 22 grams of heroin, cash Rs 40,050, one sharp edged weapon and 6 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 20/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act, 4/25 Arms Act, 48 a Excise Act got registered in PS RS Pura and the accused got arrested.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
