JAMMU, Jan 23: Sunil Kumar (IPS), ADGP Railways J&K, along with Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Railways Jammu (also holding the additional charge of SSP GRP Katra), visited Jammu and Katra to conduct a comprehensive review of security preparations for Republic Day-2024.
To assess the security arrangements and gather fresh feedback from GRP officers, ADGP Railways held meetings with SDPOs, SHOs, and ICPPs of GRP at Jammu and Katra. During these sessions, he interacted with all participants, focusing on the security measures implemented in their respective areas of responsibility, considering the upcoming Republic Day and consistent intelligence inputs related to threats from Anti-National Elements (ANEs) and Anti-Social Elements (ASEs).
The primary objective of the meetings was to enhance the overall security setup at all Railway stations and tracks in Jammu and Katra. ADGP Railways emphasized the importance of conducting Anti-Sabotage Checks of Railway Stations, tracks, and surrounding areas using security gadgets and sniffer dogs. He directed officers to ensure that communication networks are efficient, active, and strengthened for the prompt dissemination of crucial and urgent information.
In conclusion, ADGP Railway J&K urged officers to maintain close liaison with sister intelligence agencies, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Para-Military Forces (PMF), and District Police to prevent any untoward incidents. The visit and comprehensive security review demonstrated the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment during the Republic Day celebrations in the region. |
