GDC Samba commemorates National Voters' Day

SAMBA, Jan 25: Today, the Department of Political Science at SPPND Govt Degree College Samba, in collaboration with the NSS and NCC units of the college, fervently celebrated National Voters' Day under the theme "Nothing like voting, I vote for sure." The event, organized under the aegis of Viksit Bharat@2047, witnessed a Pledge Ceremony, a motivational lecture, and a musical ode to democracy.
The event, held with the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, the esteemed Principal of the college, kicked off with the National Voters' Day Pledge Ceremony. Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, along with staff and students, took the pledge, reinforcing the democratic values of the nation. The pledge emphasized the importance of voting valiantly, free from considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language, or any incentive.
The highlight of the celebration was a motivating lecture delivered by Nawaz Sharief, District Social Welfare Officer, Samba. Mr. Sharief spoke passionately on the "Role of Voting for Developed India," underscoring the pivotal role of young voters in disseminating awareness about ethical voting and making informed choices to propel India towards development.
Adding a melodious touch to the event, students of the college presented a group song on democracy at Veer Bhoomi Park, Samba. The performance resonated with the spirit of National Voters' Day, echoing the values of democracy and the importance of active civic participation.
Prof.(Dr.) Twinkle Suri, in her address, encouraged the students to actively engage in the electoral process, emphasizing the crucial role they play in fulfilling the dream of Viksit Bharat - a Developed India.
The National Voters' Day celebration at SPPND Govt Degree College Samba was a vibrant and insightful event, fostering a sense of civic responsibility among the students and promoting the values of a democratic nation.
