LPU collaborates with Maruti Suzuki & SAENIS for Effi-Cycle 2024

JALANDHAR, Jan 31: Lovely Professional University (LPU), in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki Ltd and SAENIS, recently organized the 14th edition of the Effi-Cycle 2024 competition. The four-day event, held at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis, aimed at promoting innovation and environmental consciousness among budding engineers in the field of eco-friendly mobility solutions. A total of 21 teams from different universities across the nation participated in the competition, showcasing their self-created human-electric hybrid vehicles. The competition not only highlighted cutting-edge engineering but also presented sustainable transportation solutions to onlooking students. The valedictory ceremony witnessed the recognition of exceptionally skilled teams, with awards presented by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) & LPU's Founder Chancellor, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal. Chief Technical Officer Mr. CV Raman, Former Sr MEO Mr. I V Rao, and Executive Director Dr. Tapan Sahoo from Maruti Suzuki, along with Former Director ICAT Mr. Dinesh Tyagi, also graced the event. Some notable awards included 'Best Vehicle Aesthetics' in the Advanced Hybrid category awarded to LPU students' vehicle 'Illuminati Racers'-23072, and Supriya S from the team "Vaayu Hawks" declared as the 'Best Woman Participant.' The Dronacharya award went to Assist. Prof Sagar Deokar for 'Stallion-23070,' and vehicles from Hindustan Lahaurians received four awards in different segments for their diverse vehicles. The competition challenged students to conceive, design, and fabricate vehicles powered by human-electric hybrid power, catering to day-to-day mobility needs. The vehicles were evaluated for aerodynamics, performance, safety, and ergonomic design. Competitions were held in three segments - Advance Hybrid, Effi-Que, and Effi-Que ADAS, providing a platform for students to showcase their talent and innovative ideas in the automotive sector.
