Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: Shivani Charak, a renowned sport climber from Jammu and Kashmir, showcased her exceptional talent by securing two more medals on the concluding day of the 4th Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship organized by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation at TSAF Sport Climbing Training Centre, Bistupur, Jamshedpur from January 26th to 29th, 2024. Shivani added a Silver medal in Speed Climbing and a Bronze medal in Speed Relay to her collection, following her Gold medal win in Lead climbing & Bouldering (Combined) on the first day of the competition. Shivani Charak, a cancer survivor and India's top-ranked sport climber, received a total cash prize of Rs. 33,000 for her outstanding performance in the championship. Members of the Mountaineering Association of J&K, led by Zorawar Singh Jamwal (President), Ram Khajuria (Sr. Vice President), Shawetica Khajuria (General Secretary), and Rahul Sharma (Chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Jammu), extended their heartfelt congratulations to Shivani for her remarkable achievements in the Tata Steel Competition. The championship, the largest Sport Climbing Competition in India, offered a total prize money of Rs. 6.50 lakh. In recognition of her achievements, Shivani Charak has been invited as a Guest of Honour for the UMEED Cancer Support Forum Marathon, "Umeed Ki Run," to be held in Pune on February 4th, coinciding with World Cancer Day. |
