JUIT Waknaghat's ECE Department conducts successful robotic setup training workshop

JAMMU, Feb 3: The Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, successfully organized a 'Training Workshop on Robotic Setup' in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. from January 29-30, 2024.
The workshop stemmed from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the ECE Department and Mitsubishi Electric India (MEI) Pvt. Ltd. in April 2022. As part of this collaboration, MEI provided JUIT with Mitsubishi Factory Automation Student Learning Set-Ups in April 2022, consisting of essential components like Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Inverter, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Servo Motors. In December 2023, MEI extended its support by providing an Industrial Robot Set-Up, enhancing JUIT students' knowledge in the field of Industrial Automation.
The installation and training session for the Robotic Set-Up took place from January 29 to January 30, 2024, under the coordination of Dr. Pardeep Garg and Dr. Salman Raju Talluri, faculty members of the ECE department, guided by Prof. Rajiv Kumar, the Head of the ECE department. Paras Mehta, an expert from Mitsubishi Electric India (MEI) Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, served as the resource person for the training.
On January 29, 2024, Paras completed the installation of the robotic setup, paving the way for the extensive training session that followed on January 30, 2024. The training covered essential topics such as the basics of Robots, Robot Operation, Backup Procedure, Robot Programming using Teach Pendant, and included a hands-on session on Programming Software using RT Toolbox 3. Mr. Paras demonstrated the application of Robot for 'Pick & Place' during the session.
The training session, attended by the HoD of the ECE department, faculty members, lab staff from various departments, and students of ECE, CSE, and IT branches, concluded around 4:45 PM on January 30, 2024. The session received positive feedback from all attendees, acknowledging the expertise of Paras Mehta and the valuable insights gained during the workshop.
The successful collaboration between JUIT Waknaghat and Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. continues to contribute to the academic and practical growth of students in the field of Industrial Automation.
