Jammu, Feb 4: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finds itself in an uneasy silence over the seat-sharing arrangement for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The political landscape in the region has been set ablaze with speculation and intrigue as the National Conference (NC) and the Congress appear to have decided to share seats, potentially sidelining their ally, the PDP.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “INDIA alliance constituents the PDP, NC, and Congress, have been finding it hard to reach on consensus. Recent developments suggest a significant shift in dynamics, with the PDP remaining silent in the ongoing negotiations surrounding seat distribution.”

Sources within the political circles suggest that the NC and Congress have decided to leave PDP out. The silence from the PDP camp has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about the party's standing within the alliance.
Insiders reveal that the PDP leadership is grappling with internal challenges and indecision over its strategy for the upcoming elections. The party faces the prospect of being marginalized as its allies forge ahead with their own plans.
“Sidelining of the PDP in the seat-sharing talks could have far-reaching consequences for the party in J&K. The intricate balance within the alliance, once considered a strength, now appears to be tilting in favor of the NC and Congress,” said an observer.
He said, “Lack of a clear and assertive stance from the PDP has added an air of mystery to the unfolding political drama. The PDP leaders, usually vocal about their positions, have remained tight-lipped leaving party members and the public in suspense.”
