Jammu, Feb 8: In a heartfelt commemoration, the 126th birth anniversary of Mata Ramabai Ambedkar was observed at the Shelter Home (Home of Urban Homeless) located in Boria Basti Gorkh Nagar Bahu Fort, Jammu. The event, attended by residents of Rehan Basera, paid homage to the remarkable life and contributions of Mata Ramabai Ambedkar. Sham Lal Basson, ex-Corporator, highlighted the pivotal role Mata Ramabai played in the life of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, underscoring her unwavering support and encouragement towards his mission and educational pursuits. Despite facing immense challenges and living in poverty during Dr. Ambedkar's academic pursuits abroad, Mata Ramabai remained a pillar of strength, showcasing unparalleled determination and sacrifice. The ceremony included a touching cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing reverence for Mata Ramabai's legacy. Students Nandni, Rajni Devi, and Amaira eloquently spoke about Mata Ramabai's life and history, emphasizing her indelible impact on society. Madam Krishna Bangotra, Prof. C.L. Shivgotra, Neelam Sambyal, Veena Kundal, Savita Dhupper, Dr. Buti Ram, and Veena Bakshi shared their insights on Mata Ramabai's extraordinary struggle and contributions. Tributes were paid by various individuals, including Madan Lal Bangotra, Neelam Kumari, Rani Devi, Rita Devi, Sudesh Sharma, Veena Devi, Rattan Lal, Rajwal, Rajat, and the residents of Rehan Basera. Sweets were distributed, and a langar was served, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the attendees.
